The School of Technology Management and Logistics (STML) organised its annual symposium known as the STML Go Green Symposium recently. This symposium acted as a platform for the final year students to present their final project and it also served as the knowledge and experience sharing avenue for the members of the faculty and industry.
The Go Green Symposium highlighted the theme, - "Green Innovation on Technology, Operations, Logistics and Transport Safety" and it was held concurrently with the 1st National Conference on Transport Policy and Safety 2017. This joint programme is known as the Go Green-Transport Safety 2017.
The launching ceremony of the Go Green-Transport Safety 2017 was officiated by the Dean of STML, Prof. Dr. Shahimi Mohtar at the Seminar Hall, STML.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Shahimi stated that, the Go Green-Transport Safety 2017 was a platform for Project Paper presentation on the green technology, operations and logistics for sustainable development that involved crucial aspects including transportation, energy, agriculture and logistics.
He added that, the Go Green-Transport Safety 2017 attracted a total of 550 participants and observers and it involved 250 poster and oral presentations.
Also present at symposium were the President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Malaysia, Dato' Abd Radzak Abd Malek who delivered the keynote address entitled - "Be A Logisticians Expert."
The Symposium on Technology Management & Logistics was formerly known as SIPTIK. This is the seventh edition of the symposium since its inaugural edition in 2011.
In 2015, the symposium was rebranded as the STML Go Green and upgraded into an annual STML event to improve the quality of the paper presented in the symposium.
The STML Go Green is open to all postgraduate students in STML to present their project paper and the symposium is also open to students from other institutions of higher education in the northern region.
