A total of 84 students from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) received their scrolls from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) during the 15th CILT Convocation Ceremony held at Dewan Tun Dr. Ismail, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) Kuala Lumpur on 12 November 2016. The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is a leading international body for professionals involved in the logistics and transport industry. UUM recorded another significant achievement this year with an increase in the number of students receiving the CILT professional certification.
The scrolls were presented by the CILT International President, Mr. Paul Brooks representing Her Majesty, the Queen of England. A total of 420 students from other universities in Malaysia received their scrolls at the same ceremony.
This year, 31 students of the Bachelor of Business in Administration of Logistics/ Transportation (BBALT) and 53 students of the Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of International Business Management (BIBM) programmes from UUM received their scrolls at the ceremony. The CILT International President also presented the “Best Student Awards” to Miss Lina Loh (BBALT) and Miss Tan Li Yee (BIBM).
CILT provides a platform for future professionals to engage in every facet of the logistics and transport industry. The Institute offered qualification through The Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQE) which was held in UUM every semester. The CILT is a recognised international professional qualification with high education standard for the practitioners in the fields of logistics and transport. Furthermore, a member passing the CILT Qualifying Examination will be accepted as a graduate with a qualification equivalent to a general degree in logistics and transport.
During the ceremony, students were presented with two certificates, i.e PQE and MILT (Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport). Among those present at the ceremony were the International Secretary General, Mr. Keith Newton, the International Vice-President cum President of CILT Malaysia, Dato’ Abd Radzak Abd Malek FCILT, International observers from CILT , professionals and parents.
